In May of 2005 I promised a short run of Angeldevil chapters for all you folks who keep an eye on my dA site, and lo and behold — here they are! These chapters are taken from the start of Volume 2 of my Angeldevil series, and are interdependent from the main plot. Think of them as a little "sample."

This journal has the links to the first pages of each chapter, so you can jump to whichever place in the story you want to read. Furthermore, each page has [previous] and [next] links for easy reading, as well as a link back to this journal.

About Angeldevil

Angeldevil was a story first fully conceived almost a year ago, although some of the characters have roots which stretch back much farther than that. I turned it into a manga for two reasons: one, I had never read a comic where the main character was female, freakish, not "beautiful", and seriously badass and I wanted to change that; and two, to teach myself how to draw manga in the first place.

In the beginning it was just a half-baked idea to get myself used to the style of comics, but since then the story has grown on me, and now I fully intend to finish it. There will be ten volumes, at 10-12 parts per volume, that will take me approximately seven years to complete. Currently I have finished with volume one, and what will be presented to you in the coming weeks is parts one through four of volume two. This is a short, self contained "filler" storyline, although there are a few small references to events in the first volume (Shakuro's Spirit Staff, for example), and a few incidents that will carry over on to the rest of the series.

Angeldevil is set in the same world as ~TheIronWizard but in a very different place. It takes place predominantly in Redling, the capital city of Kyreland. Kyreland can be compared roughly to Great Britain, and Redling to an odd blend of Palo Alto California and London. As in ~TheIronWizard magic is abundant and common, witches and demons are everyday things, and legends are more reliable sources of information than history textbooks.

The main plot of the series concerns Shakuro, and her quest to recover a metal key-like object that contains a lost portion of her soul; and the destruction of the Underground Empire, the organization that controlled her. It's mostly Action/Adventure with a funny side. Very little romance or angst.
