It is my opinion that the Beatles have probably the most visual songs of any band I have ever heard. And no, this is not because of "Yellow Submarine". I first noticed this effect when listening to "I am the Walrus" for maybe the 95th time, and began getting visions dancing through my deluded brain that were... a heck of a lot more wacked out than this. This is tame conpared to what all else my brain produced under the influence of their zany tunes.
It did get me thinking, however, about "illustrating" the Beatles songs; or more presicely, the songs that I really, really liked. And not just the conventional titles pieces or what have you, but drawing what the song was about. I did three of these pieces, and promptly gave the originals away as Christmas presents --- which is why I have had to wait so long before posting them. So. Here is my first foray into the bright and twisted realms of Beatle-induced creations: I am the Walrus ("No you're not!" said Little Nicola) *hums* Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun. If the sun don't come you get a tan from standing in the English rain. I am the Eggman. They are the Eggman. I am the Wlarus! GOO GOO GA JOO GOO GOO GA JOOB! Pastels on paper.
