Artist's CommentsMezzuraijahaadh is the city's real name, and means, in the tongue of its natives "city of golden domes and spires" which, upon first glance, seems fitting enough. But as a city built mostly over water, it also has a remarkable number of bridges. And, as a sad inevitability when bridges are around, people have an unfortunate habit of falling off them on occasion. But there is another element to Mezzuraijahaadh that is not so immediately obvious: the giant sea-dragons living beneath the shining waters. These seem to be mostly content to ignore the little human civilization existing above their vast underwater empire, but they do not like having people falling into their living rooms any more than we do, and so on the rare occasion that someone does fall from a bridge in Mezzuraijahaadh, they are often returned shortly thereafter upon the nose of a long-suffering and rather bored sea-dragon. It is a spectacle not to be missed, though intentional jumping from the bridges are discouraged by the fact that sea-dragons can and will as soon as eat the people who fall into their watery abode as return them. Still, it is common enough that Mezzuraijahaadh has come to be called another name: The City of Bridges and Dragons, which, though perhaps not what the original builders had intended, is still much easier for most tourists to pronounce than Mezzuraijahaadh.
