Some people seem a bit confused as to who Sekmit is. So let me clarify first by saying who she is not: she is not Sekhmet, the lion-headed war goddess, nor is she related to Bast. Sekmit is the Pharaoh of the Antherian Underworld, and her name comes from a combination of Sekhmet and Ammit, the chimera monster who eats the hearts of the unworthy. I picked the name because I wanted to combine in Sekmit the regal and graceful properties of Sekhmet, but also the terrifying potential of the monster Ammit.
So yes, she may look all cute and curvaceous and cuddly, but under the fuzzy exterior is a stern ruler who will not tolerate raucous behavior in the halls after midnight. She doesn't carry that crook and flail for nothing.
